The BECOPAD P depth filter sheets with extremely low endotoxin content (<0.025 EU/ml) after rinsing with 0.61 gal/ft² (25 l/m²) WFI (Water for Injection) and up to 50% reduction of rinse volume are composed of high-purity cellulose. Eaton's manufacturing method assure consistent product quality and the hightest purity of filter media to meet the manufacturing requirements of pharmaceutical products plus the regulatory need for risk avoidance.

These depth filter sheets can be used for a wide range of applications, including clarification of ethanol solutions which have a tendency for ion-related precipitation, catalyst removal, and separation tasks in the production of biopharmaceutical products. Due to low charge-specific adsorption effects and mechanical separation they can preserve the desired target ingredients in the filtrate.

Filter Material
High-purity cellulose
Coarse, clarifying and fine filtration; Microbial reduction and removal
FDA, EC 1935/2004, BfR XXXVI/1; Validation Guide available

  • Minimum endotoxin contents, this ensures product safety
  • Increased endotoxin retention
  • Without the addition of mineral components, therefore minimum ion content particularly of calcium, magnesium and aluminum ions
  • Very high chemical resistance and mechanical stability
  • Rinsing volume reduced by up to 50%, resulting in reduced process costs
  • A Validation Guide is available upon request
Further distinguishing features include the very low level of extractables and extremely low endotoxin content (< 0.025 EU/ml after rinsing with 25 l/m² WFI).

The detection of ion content after extraction with 40 % ethanol (after rinsing with 25 l/m² ethanol) is extremely low e.g.
- Calcium < 50 ppb
- Magnesium < 25 ppb
- Aluminum < 5 ppb

The BECOPAD P depth filter media meets the testing requirements of Plastic Class VI and Cytotoxicity tests.

All quality related test reports and documents are enclosed in a Validation Guide, which is available upon request.
