Branch line restraints

Branch line restraints are critical components of an NFPA 13 compliant seismic bracing system, preventing movement of fire sprinkler branch lines which could cause damage to themselves, the structure or other nearby non-structural systems, such as air handling ducts, plumbing or electrical systems. TOLCO branch line restraint components continue the legacy of innovative, labor savings designs for fire protection contractors.

TOLCO Fig. 76 upper attachment

TOLCO Fig. 76 structural attachment of a branch line restraint assembly meets the requirements of NFPA 13 for sway bracing of fire sprinkler systems. It can be used with multiple types of fasteners to attach to concrete, steel or wood structures, and it fits both 3⁄8" and 1/2" all threaded rod. It is UL listed as a restraint for lateral bracing and FM approved as a sway brace attachment.

Supports both CPVC and IPS piping to concrete ceilings. It allows for an easy, one-fastener attachment, while supporting pipes either vertically or horizontally on walls or ceilings.

TOLCO Fig. 77 branch line restraint

TOLCO Fig. 77 system attachment of a branch line restraint assembly meets the requirements of NFPA 13 for sway bracing of fire sprinkler systems. UL Listed for use with both steel and CPVC pipe systems. Fits both 3⁄8" and 1/2" rod.  Features a unique snap on design for fast, easy installation or pre-fabrication of branch line restraint assemblies.

What are branch line restraints?

As a component of a seismic bracing system a branch line restraint (BLR) performs a critical function. Its primary purpose is to prevent the movement of fire sprinkler branch lines which could cause damage to themselves, the structure or other nearby non-structural systems, such as air handling ducts, plumbing or electrical systems.
